Overview

Recruitier is built for the Dutch recruitment market, but the platform interface is available in both Dutch and English. You can switch between languages at any time to use the platform in whichever language you are most comfortable with. Dutch (NL) is the default language for new accounts.

Available Languages

LanguageCodeDefaultDescription
NederlandsNLYesThe interface displays all menus, buttons, labels, and help text in Dutch.
EnglishENNoThe interface displays all menus, buttons, labels, and help text in English.
Both languages are fully supported across the entire platform. There is no feature difference between the two — every page, dialog, tooltip, empty state message, and error message is translated.

How to Change Your Language

1

Navigate to Settings

Click on your profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar and select Settings.
2

Select your preferred language

On the Settings page, find the Language section on the right side. Select either English or Nederlands from the dropdown.
3

Apply the change

The language change is applied when you select it from the dropdown. The interface updates to reflect the new language.
4

Interface updates

The interface immediately switches to the selected language. All menus, buttons, labels, form fields, and system messages are displayed in the new language. No page refresh or logout is required.
You can change your language as often as you like. There is no limit on how many times you switch, and the change takes effect immediately without needing to log out or refresh the page.

What Changes with Language

When you switch your display language, the following elements change:

What Does Change

  • Navigation menus — All sidebar items, tab labels, and navigation breadcrumbs
  • Button text — All action buttons (Save, Cancel, Create, Delete, etc.)
  • Form labels — All input field labels and placeholder text
  • System messages — Success messages, error messages, and confirmation dialogs
  • Tooltips and help text — Contextual help throughout the interface
  • Table headers — Column headers in data tables
  • Empty state messages — Messages shown when no data is available
  • Settings labels — All options and descriptions in the settings pages
  • Toast notifications — Real-time notification text

What Does Not Change

  • Job content — Job titles, descriptions, and requirements are displayed in whatever language they were originally posted in (usually Dutch or English, depending on the job listing source)
  • Company information — Company names, industry classifications, and other company data remain in their original language
  • Candidate data — CV content, skill names, and candidate profiles remain as entered or extracted
  • User-generated content — Outreach messages, internal notes, project names, and tag names remain in whatever language you wrote them in
  • Email content — The content of outreach emails is determined by your tone of voice settings and message composition, not the interface language
  • AI-generated text — AI message generation follows your tone of voice configuration, which is independent of the interface language
The language setting controls only the Recruitier user interface. It does not translate any of the recruitment content you work with (jobs, candidates, companies). Content from external sources is displayed as-is, regardless of your language preference.

Language and Team Settings

Your language preference is personal and does not affect other team members. In an agency setting, each recruiter can choose their own language independently. One team member can use the interface in Dutch while another uses it in English — there is no conflict. Shared resources (tones of voice, pitch decks, outreach flows) are not affected by individual language settings. They display in whatever language they were created in. This means an agency can have a Dutch tone of voice template that displays correctly regardless of whether a team member uses the Dutch or English interface.

Recommendations

  • Use the language you think in — Choose the language that lets you work most efficiently. If you think and communicate primarily in Dutch, use the Dutch interface.
  • Consider your outreach language — While the interface language and outreach language are independent, using the same language for both can reduce context switching.
  • New users — If you are new to Recruitier and following this English-language documentation, you might find it helpful to start in English so labels and buttons match the documentation. Switch to Dutch once you are comfortable with the platform.
  • Screenshots and support — If you need to contact support with screenshots, mention which language your interface is set to so the support team can interpret your screenshots correctly.
