What Is the Guided Tour?
After completing your initial profile setup, Recruitier offers an interactive guided tour that walks you through the platform’s key features. The tour uses step-by-step tooltips that highlight different parts of the interface, explaining what each section does and how to use it. The tour is designed to get you comfortable with Recruitier in just a few minutes, so you can start being productive right away.Completing the guided tour earns you 10 bonus credits on top of your starter
allocation. This is a one-time reward — restarting the tour later does not grant
additional credits. The bonus is awarded when you finish the tour for the first time.
Tour Structure
The guided tour is a single continuous walkthrough of 12 steps that covers the platform’s key features. It is the same tour for all users, regardless of which account goal you selected. The tour takes approximately 3-5 minutes to complete. The 12 steps cover:- Dashboard welcome — An overview of your home screen
- Sidebar navigation — Where to find the main sections of the platform
- Candidates section — How candidate management works
- Upload CV — How to add your first candidate (interactive step)
- Job Search section — How to create and manage job searches
- Client Search section — How to discover potential clients
- Search filters — How to use industry, location, and other filters
- Add to pipeline — How to save a company to your client pipeline (interactive step)
- Company details — What information is available on company cards
- Outreach flows — How to create outreach sequences (interactive step)
- Settings — Where to manage your account, email connections, and preferences
- Tour completion — Summary and next steps
The Onboarding Checklist
Alongside the guided tour, Recruitier provides a floating onboarding checklist widget that tracks your progress through the key first-time actions. The widget appears in the bottom-right corner of your screen and can be expanded or collapsed. It consists of 7 steps: 4 universal and 3 goal-specific.Universal Steps (All Users)
These steps apply regardless of which goal you have selected:Goal-Specific Steps
These steps vary based on your selected goal:- Candidate Placement
- Business Development
- Speculative Placement
- Job Marketing
Tracking Your Progress
Your onboarding progress is displayed as a percentage in the floating checklist widget in the bottom-right corner. A progress bar and step counter (e.g., “3/7”) show how far along you are. Each completed step contributes to this percentage equally. With 7 total steps (4 universal + 3 goal-specific), each step represents approximately 14% of the total progress. Confetti animations celebrate milestones at 50% and 100% completion. When all steps are done, you can dismiss the widget. You can also dismiss it early if you prefer to explore on your own — a confirmation dialog asks you to confirm before dismissing.Skipping the Tour
If you prefer to explore on your own, you can skip the guided tour at any point:- Click Skip during any tour step to end the tour immediately
- The “Tour completed” onboarding step remains unmarked, but this does not prevent you from using any features
Restarting the Tour
If you skipped the tour initially and want to go through it later, or if you want to see the tour again as a refresher, you can restart it from the onboarding checklist widget:- Expand the floating checklist widget in the bottom-right corner
- Click the Restart Tour button at the bottom of the widget
The bonus credits are only awarded once. If you already completed the tour and earned
the bonus, restarting and completing the tour again does not grant additional credits.
However, restarting the tour can still be useful as a refresher of the platform’s
features.
Restarting the Entire Onboarding
If you want to go through the full onboarding experience from scratch:- Go to Settings in the left sidebar
- Navigate to the Account section
- Click Restart Onboarding
- Your account goal is preserved (not reset)
- Previously awarded bonus credits are not re-awarded
- Your existing data (candidates, searches, companies) is not affected
- Only the onboarding tracking state is reset
Advanced
Onboarding Credit Mechanics
The tour bonus credit system works as follows:
This means a new user on the free trial can have a maximum of 110 credits (100 starter + 10
tour bonus) during their trial period. These credits do not refresh during the trial —
only paid plans have periodic credit refreshes.
Retroactive Step Detection
Recruitier’s onboarding system uses retroactive completion detection. This works by checking whether the action associated with an onboarding step has already been performed, regardless of when it happened. For example:- If you uploaded a candidate through the Candidates page before reaching the “Upload your first candidate” onboarding step, the system detects the existing candidate and marks the step as complete
- If you connected your email through Settings before the onboarding flow prompted you, the “Email connected” step is automatically marked as done
