Overview

The Settings page is where you manage your personal profile and business information in Recruitier. This information is used across the platform — in outreach messages, invoices, team profiles, and AI-generated communications. Keeping it accurate and up to date ensures smooth communication and correct billing. To access your settings, click on your profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar and select Settings. The settings page is a single scrollable page organized into sections, with your profile information and password settings on the left side, and integrations, data management, notifications, language, and onboarding on the right side.

Personal Information

The personal information section contains your basic profile details:

First Name and Last Name

Your name as it appears throughout the platform. This is used in:
  • Your team profile (visible to agency admins and members)
  • AI-generated outreach messages when personalization is enabled
  • Internal activity logs and search attribution
  • Email signature references
To update your name, edit the fields and click Save Changes. The change takes effect immediately across all new outreach messages and team views.

Email Address

Your registered email address. This is the email you use to log in and where you receive system notifications, invitation links, and password reset emails.
Your email address serves as your unique identifier in Recruitier and is displayed as read-only on the settings page. It cannot be changed through the settings interface. Your connected email provider (Gmail/Outlook) for outreach is separate from your login email.

Phone Number

Your contact phone number. This is optional but recommended if you use phone outreach features or want your number included in AI-generated messages. Your phone number may be included in outreach templates or email signatures if you configure them to include it.

Business Details

The business details section captures information about your recruitment company. This information is used for invoicing and helps Recruitier tailor the experience to your business context.

Company Name

The name of your recruitment firm or business. This is displayed in:
  • Your profile within the agency (if applicable)
  • Invoice headers and billing documents
  • AI-generated outreach signatures (if configured)
  • Pitch deck references
If you leave the company name empty and attempt to send outreach, the AI omits the company reference from generated messages. This makes your outreach appear less professional. Fill in your company name before launching any campaigns.

BTW Number

Your BTW (belasting over de toegevoegde waarde) number, which is the Dutch VAT registration number. This is recommended for proper invoicing within the Netherlands and the EU. Enter your BTW number in the standard format (e.g., NL123456789B01).
If you are a freelance recruiter operating as a ZZP’er, you still need a BTW number for invoicing purposes. Contact the Belastingdienst if you are unsure about your registration. Your BTW number appears on all invoices generated after you add it.

Address

Your business street address. This appears on invoices and official communications.

City

The city where your business is located.

Zip Code

Your postal code (postcode). Enter it in the standard Dutch format (e.g., 1234 AB).

Country

Your business country. Defaults to the Netherlands but can be changed if your business is registered elsewhere.

Account Goal

The account goal tells Recruitier how you primarily use the platform. This setting influences which features are highlighted in your dashboard, the order of quick action buttons, and how the onboarding experience is tailored. Available goals:
GoalDescription
Candidate PlacementYou primarily search for jobs to place your existing candidates. The platform focuses on job search and matching features.
Business DevelopmentYou primarily search for new client companies that need recruitment services. The platform emphasizes client discovery features.
Speculative PlacementYou combine candidate placement with proactive company outreach. Both job search and client discovery are equally emphasized.
Job MarketingYou market specific job openings and need to find suitable candidates. The platform focuses on candidate sourcing and outreach.
You can change your account goal at any time. Changing it adjusts the onboarding checklist steps and AI message generation but does not remove access to any features. All features are always available regardless of your goal.

Data Management

The account settings page also provides access to data management options:

Restore Deleted Items

If you have soft-deleted searches, companies, or jobs, you can restore them from the data management section. Soft-deleted items are not permanently removed immediately — they can be recovered within a grace period.

Restart Onboarding

The onboarding section shows your current onboarding progress percentage and whether onboarding is completed or in progress. Click Restart Onboarding to reset all onboarding steps and progress. This does not affect your existing data, account goal, or previously awarded credits — only the onboarding tracking state is reset.

Saving Changes

After making any changes to your account settings:
  1. Review the updated fields to ensure accuracy
  2. Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the form
  3. A confirmation message appears when your changes have been saved successfully
Changes take effect immediately across the platform. Recruitier uses sparse updates, meaning only the fields you changed are sent to the server. This prevents accidental overwrites if you only intended to update one field.
Your email address is read-only and cannot be changed from the settings page. All other fields can be updated and saved at any time.

Best Practices

  • Keep your information current — If your company moves offices or you change phone numbers, update your settings promptly. Outdated information can cause issues with invoicing and outreach credibility.
  • Use your business email — Register with a professional email address that matches your company domain. This builds credibility when sending outreach.
  • Set your account goal — Even if you do multiple things, choose the goal that best represents your primary activity. You can always change it later.
  • Complete all fields — While some fields are optional, filling in all your business details ensures invoices are correct and saves you from having to update them later.
  • Review before outreach — Before launching your first outreach campaign, verify that your name, company name, and phone number are all correct. These fields appear in AI-generated messages.

Sparse Update Mechanism

When you save account settings, Recruitier only sends the fields that have actually changed. This “sparse update” approach has several benefits:
  • Reduces the risk of overwriting data if your session has stale values
  • Improves performance by minimizing payload size
  • Prevents conflicts when multiple fields are managed by different parts of the UI
  • Works well in agency settings where multiple users may update their profiles simultaneously
If a field has not been modified, it is excluded from the update request entirely.

Profile Data Flow

Your profile data is used in multiple systems across Recruitier:
SystemHow It Uses Your Profile
Message composerInjects name and company into AI-generated outreach
Signature handlerReferences your name and phone for email signatures
Invoice generatorUses company name, BTW number, and address for billing
Team dashboardDisplays your name and role in the agency member list
Activity logsAttributes searches, saves, and outreach to your name

Goal Change and Onboarding

When you change your account goal:
  1. The 3 goal-specific onboarding steps update immediately to match the new goal
  2. Steps you already completed for the previous goal are preserved in the system
  3. AI-generated outreach messages adjust their tone and approach to the new goal
  4. No data is deleted or hidden — all features and data remain accessible
