This guide walks you through the essential first steps to start using Recruitier. By the end, you will have an active account, your first candidate uploaded, a job search running, and potential clients identified.
Recruitier offers a 14-day free trial with full access to all features and 100 starter credits. No credit card is required for the first 7 days. Your trial timer starts when you verify your email, not when you register — so take your time confirming your account.
1

Create your account

Go to app.recruitier.com/register and sign up with your email address and a password (minimum 8 characters). After submitting the registration form, check your inbox for a verification email and click the confirmation link. This activates your account, grants you 100 starter credits, and begins your 14-day trial period. If you have received an invitation from your agency, use the invitation link instead. This will associate your account with your team automatically and give you access to shared resources from day one.
Check your spam folder if you do not see the verification email within a few minutes. If you selected a paid plan during registration, email verification is skipped automatically.
2

Set up your profile and connect email

After logging in for the first time, you are taken to the profile setup page. Complete these essential setup steps:
  • Personal information — Enter your first name and last name. These appear in your outreach messages and help the AI personalize communications.
  • Choose your goal — Select the workflow that best describes how you work: Candidate Placement, Business Development, Speculative Placement, or Job Marketing. This customizes your onboarding checklist steps.
  • Connect your email — Link your Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account from the Settings page so you can send outreach messages directly from Recruitier. Your email signature is imported automatically and cached for fast use in message composition.
You can change your goal and email connection at any time from the Settings page. Your initial choice simply tailors the onboarding experience. Changing your goal later does not reset your progress — steps you already completed remain done.
3

Take the guided tour (earn bonus credits)

After setting up your profile and arriving at the dashboard, Recruitier shows a welcome modal that offers an interactive guided tour. The tour walks you through the platform’s key features in 12 steps, covering the dashboard, sidebar navigation, candidate management, client discovery, outreach, and settings.
Completing the guided tour earns you bonus credits on top of your starter allocation. This is a one-time reward, so it is worth taking the few minutes to complete it.
The tour is a single continuous walkthrough that takes approximately 3-5 minutes. It covers navigation, candidate uploads, client search, outreach flows, and settings — regardless of which goal you selected. You can skip the tour and return to it later from the onboarding checklist widget, but the bonus credits are only awarded on first completion.

Upload your first candidate CV

Navigate to the Candidates section from the left sidebar. Click the Add Candidate button and upload a CV file (PDF or Word document).Recruitier’s AI will automatically extract:
  • Name, email, phone number, and location
  • Job title and professional summary
  • Skills with confidence scores
  • Experience level and years of experience
  • Education level
After extraction, you will be asked to confirm the candidate’s skills and set their location preferences (city and preferred commute radius in kilometers). Once confirmed, the candidate is ready for job matching.
You can also add a candidate by pasting their LinkedIn profile URL instead of uploading a CV. Skill confirmation is especially important — skills carry a 45% weight in the matching algorithm, so accurate skills lead to significantly better match results.
5

Run your first job search

Go to the Searches section and click New Search. Enter the key details:
  • Job title or description — What role are you looking for? (e.g., “Python Developer”)
  • Location — Where should the jobs be based? (e.g., “Amsterdam”)
  • Additional filters — Optionally narrow by experience level, job type (full-time, part-time, contract), flexibility (remote, hybrid, on-site), and recency (posted within the last week, month, etc.)
Click Search and Recruitier will scan job boards, classify each result using AI, and present them ranked by match quality. Jobs are categorized as Excellent Match, Good Match, or Poor Match based on how well they align with your search criteria. If you uploaded a candidate in Step 4, you can link the search to that candidate. Recruitier will then use the candidate’s full profile — skills, experience, and preferences — to score and rank results with even greater precision. You will receive a real-time notification the moment your search results are ready. There is no need to stay on the page — you can continue working and click through to results when the toast notification appears.
All job searches are free — search as much as you want without worrying about credits. Credits are only consumed when retrieving contact persons.
6

Discover potential clients

Open the Client Discovery section to find companies that might need your recruitment services. This database contains thousands of Dutch companies enriched with real-time hiring data.Use the filters to narrow your results:
  • Industry — Focus on your specialization (e.g., “Information Technology”, “Healthcare”)
  • Location and radius — Find companies near a specific city
  • Employee count — Target companies of a certain size
  • Hiring activity — Sort by hiring intensity to find companies with the highest ratio of open positions to employees — these are the ones most likely to need help
Click on any company to see its full profile, including job listings, employee count, website, LinkedIn page, and discovered contact details including decision makers. From the company profile, you can add the company to your pipeline, start an outreach flow, or save the search filters for future use.
Staffing and recruiting agencies are automatically excluded from client search results. This ensures your results focus on real potential clients, not competitors.

Understanding the Trial Timeline

The 14-day trial is structured to give you time to evaluate without pressure:
PeriodDaysWhat Happens
RegistrationDay 0Account created, verification email sent. Timer has NOT started yet.
Phase 1Days 1-7Full access, 100 credits, no credit card required. Starts at email verification.
Phase 2Days 8-14Credit card required to continue. You are NOT charged during this phase.
Subscription startDay 15+Paid subscription begins automatically. Cancel before day 15 to avoid charges.
If you do not verify your email, your trial does not start and certain features are restricted. Verify promptly to get the most out of your trial period.
Your first search sets the tone for your Recruitier experience. Here are tips to get the best results:
  1. Be specific with job titles — “Senior Python Developer” returns better results than just “Developer”
  2. Set a reasonable location radius — 30-50 km covers most Dutch commute zones
  3. Use experience level filters — This dramatically reduces noise in results
  4. Link to a candidate — Candidate-linked searches use the full profile for scoring, producing more relevant results than standalone searches
  5. Check results across match tiers — Excellent matches are your priority, but Good matches sometimes contain hidden opportunities

How Notifications Keep You Updated

Recruitier uses Server-Sent Events (SSE) to deliver notifications in real time. When your search completes, a toast notification appears in your browser — even if you have navigated to a different page. Key notification types you will see early on:
  • Search completion — Results are ready to review
  • Matching results — AI scoring for a candidate is complete
  • Contact details found — New contact information discovered for a company
  • Task completion — Background processing (CV parsing, data enrichment) is done
You can enable or disable notification sounds from Settings > Notifications.
